Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission (ASBM) on SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5
Launch Window:

Mission Objective:
- Deploy two satellites (ASBM 1 & 2) to provide continuous broadband coverage across the Arctic region (north of 65° N latitude).
Benefits:
- Improve secure and reliable communication infrastructure in the Arctic.
- Support economic development and scientific research in the region.
- Bridge the connectivity gap for remote communities and businesses.
Partners:
- Space Norway (owner and operator)
- HEOSAT (Space Norway subsidiary)
- Viasat
- US Space Force (USSF)
- Northrop Grumman (satellites manufacturer)
Satellite Details:
- Based on Northrop Grumman’s GEOStar-3 platform.
- Utilize highly elliptical orbits for optimal Arctic coverage.
- Carry multiple payloads including X-Band for secure military communications and Ka-Band for commercial broadband services.
Current Status:
- Satellites delivered to launch site in June 2024.
