About the Mission

The Galileo satellites are part of Europe’s global navigation satellite system, providing an independent alternative to GPS and GLONASS. Originally planned for launch on Soyuz and then Ariane 6, SpaceX secured the contract to launch the pair of satellites on a Falcon 9 rocket.
